European Parliament Elections 6-9 June 2024

Wednesday 22 May 2024

The 2024 elections of the European Parliament are around the corner. EU citizens can vote across EU countries between 6 and 9 June 2024. The European Parliament is an influential voice in debates on European frameworks on culture and (higher) education and has the power to adopt laws that affect our sectors (such as the AI act).  In addition to this, they approve the EU budget, the appointment of the President of the European Commission and the various European Commissioners. Not to be underestimated!

To help ELIA members in the EU to access and navigate these elections, we have collected some useful resources which can be used to find out more about how and where to vote, as well as to better inform your voting choice. Feel free to reshare these resources within your institutions to spread voting awareness.

Culture Voting Pack 2024 - Culture Action Europe Resources

Culture Action Europe, the umbrella network representing the cultural sectors across Europe of which ELIA is a member, has made available a voting pack for the European Parliament elections. Most importantly, this includes an overview of what the different European Parties are planning and advocating for regarding cultural policy and funding > access the Voting Pack here

Also, the final Pop the Vote! Culture on Ballot events are taking place at the end of May in different European cities. These events are organised by changemakers, young artists and art school students, that followed the Pop the Vote training programme > find out if there are any events near you and access the other project resources here
