We are thrilled to welcome our newest member: PerLa - Performance Epistemologies Research Lab

PerLa - Performance Epistemologies Research Lab is a newly established research lab at Università Iuav di Venezia (Iuav University of Venice). Founded in 1926, Iuav stands as one of Italy's pioneering universities of Architecture. Located in Venice, Italy, the university offers several undergraduate, graduate, and higher education programs in Architecture, Urban Planning, Fashion, Arts, and Design. 

A cornerstone of Iuav's mission is its commitment to internationalisation, which is a vital element of the university's overall strategy. Central to this strategy is the expansion of global outreach through partnerships and innovative international programs. With a growing number of courses taught in English, Iuav is committed to growing its international student body and creating a globally inclusive academic environment. 

PerLa encompasses a broad spectrum of doctoral studies that intersect with pedagogy and delve into the artistic experience through bodily knowledge and practices of contemporary performance. The research unit is keen to expand its collaboration and networking by exchanging ideas on a European level beyond the confines of the academic system. 

As an ELIA member, the lab aims to enhance its research capabilities, share innovative methodologies, and contribute to the broader academic and artistic communities. PerLa is committed to advancing knowledge and practices that bridge the gap between academic research and artistic performance. By integrating these collaborative efforts, the research unit aspires to make significant contributions to the field and to influence the future directions of higher arts education.
