Call for Donations: Prullenpaleis

Monday 24 February 2025

Roos Spruijt is a student at ELIA member institution HKU. Last April, Roos presented at our first annual Equity, Diversity and Inclusivity (EDI) Platform Meeting at Nida Art Colony of Vilnius Academy of Arts (NAC), in Lithuania.

This year, Roos is crowdfunding for their graduation film Prullenpaleis, an educational short film with coming-of-age elements and a surrealistic touch. The film follows three eleven year old children: Jayden, Nour, and Kian, who deal with obstacles in life in their own way. Through this film, Roos aims not only to tell an engaging visual story but also to open discussions on themes that are highly relevant for young viewers.

In addition to the film, they are developing an educational program aimed at encouraging primary school students to use their imagination and reflect on their world in a creative way. Through film screenings and in-depth discussions with children in grades 6 and 7, they aim to facilitate conversations on identity, dreams, and obstacles.

They would be grateful for any input, advice, or donations to further develop the educational aspect of this project.
