XXI International Student Film and TV Festival “PROLOGUE” returns!

We are pleased to share that the XXI International Student Film and TV Festival “PROLOGUE”, founded in 1986 by the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine and the I. K. Karpenko-Karyi Kyiv National University of the Theatre, Cinema and Television, has officially resumed after a hiatus. 


Throughout its history, “PROLOGUE” welcomed student filmmakers from around the world. Despite the full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, the resilience of Ukrainian cultural institutions shines through. In 2024, the festival was revived as a symbol of the nation’s indomitable spirit and its unwavering commitment to artistic expression and international collaboration. 

The festival showcases a curated selection of outstanding student films, providing a platform for the next generation of filmmakers and TV professionals. 

This year, they invite you to participate in the upcoming XXI edition, to be held between 16-22 November 2025, in Kyiv, Ukraine. The festival will be held online due to security reasons.  

Confirm participation by: 15 June 2025 

Film submission deadline: 30 September 2025 

Join I. K. Karpenko-Karyi Kyiv National University of the Theatre, Cinema and Television in celebrating the power of student creativity, resilience through cinema, and the unifying language of film.
