Film University Re-Elects Susanne Stürmer as President

ELIA President Susanne Stürmer has been re-elected as the President of the  Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF.  The reappointment reflects the university community's confidence in her strong vision and leadership. 

Since her initial appointment in 2013, Susanne has played a vital role in shaping the university's trajectory. Under her guidance, the institution transitioned to university status in 2014, enhancing its research profile and academic offerings. Her tenure has been marked by initiatives that bridge academic excellence with industry relevance, including the development of practice-oriented programmes like the Winterclasses and the Dual Master's in Media Law and Management. 

Beyond her role at university, Susanne holds several prominent positions in the broader arts and media landscape, including serving on the supervisory board of media.net Berlin-Brandenburg, and participating in the ZDF Television Council. 

We are proud to see Susanne continuing to lead one of Europe’s most dynamic film institutions, and we warmly congratulate her achievements. Susanne has been a member of the ELIA Representative Board since 2016 and was elected as ELIA President in November 2022. Her continued leadership at both Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF and ELIA is a source of inspiration and a testament to her commitment to safeguarding the future of higher arts education.
