Why Publish? Exploring Publishing as Curatorial Resistance

Tuesday 13 May 2025

The RCA IN SESSION talk titled 'In Session: Why Publish? Publishing as Expanded Curatorial Practice' promises to be an insightful conversation on publishing as a curatorial practice, exploring themes such as Black feminist thinking, speculative imagination, and radical political tools for envisioning new futures.

During the talk, Dr. Laura Vallés Vílchez (Senior Tutor, Curating Contemporary Art, RCA) and Dr. Lola Olufemi (writer and organiser) will discuss how publishing can intersect with political organising and curatorial work, with a particular focus on intimacy, care, and cultural resistance.

The talk will take place on 21 May 2025 at 15:00 BST. It is free to attend, and you can register here

This event will offer valuable insights into how publishing practices can expand the boundaries of cultural and political engagement. If you're interested in curatorial practice or exploring the intersection of publishing and activism, this is a brilliant opportunity.
