Registrations Open for ELIA x CAN Webinar

Friday 12 September 2025

All are invited to join this open online conversation based on From Margins to Masterpieces: Charting Pathways to Strengthen Arts in Global Education, a new report commissioned by Community Arts Network and Community Arts Lab-Porticus.

Organised by ELIA and Community Arts Network, taking place on Friday, 10 October from 15:30 – 17:00 CEST, this online session charts a roadmap for addressing challenges and strengthening arts education. Discover recent findings and comprehensive, up-to-date case studies and examples on integrating the arts into public education systems in a global context. Explore key barriers and opportunities for advancing arts education, as we highlight national initiatives and models from diverse country contexts, and map out current advocacy efforts and policy debates shaping the current global agenda.

From Margins to Masterpieces

Lead researcher of the report Dr. Heddy Lahmann, Professor and Co-Director of International Education at New York University will present useful toolkits and strategic recommendations for integrating and reinvigorating arts into public education systems.

"This report is a resource, a reference, and a reminder that arts education is not just a luxury from some children, it is a necessity for all children." - Heddy Lahmann

Together with the ELIA Arts Education for All and Equity, Diversity and Inclusivity (EDI) Working Groups we will discuss how to improve the inclusivity and accessibility of the arts for all ages while encouraging cross-sectional learning.

Whether you are an educator, artist, policymaker, or advocate, this is an unmissable opportunity to get ahead of the curve on strategic arts in education initiatives and champion change. Everyone is welcome.
