Call for Participation

ELIA members, the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance are delighted to be jointly hosting an online conference, Shared Narratives: Supporting work by performing arts researchers of colour, on the 18 - 21 November 2020.

This is an opportunity for researchers of colour to support, network and showcase their varied areas of academic interests, recognising the breadth and quality of performing arts research produced by academics of colour.

Abstracts

They welcome abstract submissions of 150 - 300 words for a paper, performance or screening (or any other form of presentation) and please email to sharednarratives@rcs.ac.uk by Friday 9 October 2020, 5.00pm GMT.

When and where is the conference?

The conference will take place online on the afternoons of 18 - 21 November 2020.

What are their aims?

Creating a platform for academic voices that are often hidden, particularly in conservatoire and university settings

  • Providing opportunities for sharing research produced by researchers of colour
  • Developing a collaborative networking space for academics and practitioners of colour
  • Who can be involved?

They invite academics and practitioners of colour in the following disciplines:

  • Music
  • Dance
  • Acting
  • Musical
  • Theatre
  • Filmmaking
  • Theatre
  • Production
