In Memory of Prof. Snejina Tankovska

It is with great sadness we inform you that Prof. Snejina Tankovska passed away on 27 December 2020.

A leading teacher in her field, Prof. Snejina Tankovska was Deputy Rector, Dean and Managing Director of the National Academy of Theatre & Film Arts NATFA and a distinguished theatre director in Bulgaria and China.

Prof. Tankovska was an elected Board Member of ELIA (1994-2004 and 2008-2012) and in that capacity made an invaluable contribution to the European higher arts education sector, renewing contact and cooperation between East and Western Europe, just after the wall fell in 1990. She participated actively in various EU funded programmes and organised the ELIA symposium ‘Brothers and Strangers’ in 1998.

Prof. Tankosvka was a wonderful friend to ELIA and will be sadly missed.
