Remembering Former ELIA President Maarten Regouin

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Maarten Regouin (1946-2021), ELIA President 2004-2006.

Maarten was closely involved with ELIA from its founding conference in 1990 onwards. In 2002 he was elected to the ELIA Representative Board and in 2004 became the first Dutch President of ELIA.

Maarten was Director of the Academy of Fine Art and Design St Joost in Breda, the Netherlands from 1988 - 1997. He subsequently became Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Hanze University, Groningen where he later became Professor and chair of ‘Internationalism and the International Professional Practice’.

Remembering Maarten’s service to ELIA with gratitude, our thoughts are with his wife Ruth, his children, family and friends.
