New member: Le Ballet du Québec

We are delighted to welcome our newest member: Le Ballet du Québec. Le Ballet du Québec was inaugurated in 2005 following a reorganization of the Compagnie Christiane Bélanger, itself founded in 2001, in order to bring together the necessary means to develop the practice, creation and dissemination of professional-calibre classical ballet works in Quebec City. Although still young, le Ballet du Québec is gradually establishing its reputation on the dance scene in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada and internationally.

The work of le Ballet du Québec, a combination of classical technique and contemporary spirit, lends itself very well to the revaluation of classical tales, which is one of the aims of its artistic approach. These ancient texts, capable of surviving the centuries, are as much for adults, because of their astonishing philosophical, psychological and social relevance, as they are for children, because of the marvellous and fairy-tale imagination they evoke. Offered in the form of a ballet, these beautiful tales bring together young and old and build a bridge between the experience of the past and the promises of the future, thus helping to open up the horizons of present-day reality.
