For the SHIFT interview series on inclusion, Maria Hansen, Executive Director of SHIFT partner network ELIA, interviewed David Baile, CEO of the International Society for the Performing Arts (ISPA).
The International Society for the Performing Arts (ISPA) is a global network of more than 500 leaders in the performing arts with representation from more than 185 cities and all regions of the globe. It has embarked on a long-term journey working towards
equity, diversity and inclusion throughout the different aspects of its work as a global network. A journey in the right direction that is not yet complete, thinks David Baile, CEO of ISPA.
"We've got a very long way to go, particularly when
it comes to regards of equity in the organization and for the members and non-members. But we've very much gone through stages and identified opportunities for us to bring more people into the organization and create more inclusion," he says.
In an interview with Maria Hansen, Executive Director of ELIA, he explains what has already happened in ISPA and which challenges still lie ahead, emphasizing how this has profoundly influenced the company's structure but also himself as a leader.
