Join the Pact4Skills sector-wide consultation
Wednesday 10 November 2021

ELIA, ECBN and ENCATC launched a sector-wide consultation process about the European Commission’s initiative: the Pact4Skills for the Cultural and Creative Industries. This consultation
process aims to gather the different voices of our broad and diverse sector, and to develop a common understanding of a sectoral Pact4Skills that reflects the issues and societal challenges ahead. Its long-term goal is to create a jointly formulated
partnership among CCSI stakeholders that will support from a broader perspective the efforts of the EU Pact4Skills in its future plans and activities.
ELIA members and other stakeholders are very welcome to join the consultation. The registration form and more information can be found here.
This consultation is a collaborative follow-up action to ELIA’s signing of the Pact4Skills. The Pact4Skills is a flagship action of the European Skills Agenda with different sector-specific
focus, including the CCSIs. The key principles of the charter of the initiative are:
• Promoting a culture of lifelong learning for all • Building strong skills partnerships • Monitoring skills supply/demand
and anticipating skill deficits • Working against discrimination and for gender equality and equal opportunities
The Pact4Skills closely matches ELIA’s strategic aims in the area of CCSIs and in particular our focus on careers in the arts and skills development through higher arts education. Various aspects of the European Skills Agenda are in line with ELIA’s
priorities, including bringing innovation in teaching and learning, encouraging lifelong learning, and supporting the green and digital transition. This initiative also connects to the focus areas of the ELIA Working Group Careers in the Arts,
and ELIA projects and activities, such as the upcoming ELIA Academy .
In October, ELIA also participated in the European Commission’s sectoral kick-off meeting for the Pact4Skills ‘Towards a Large-scale Skills Partnership for the Cultural and Creative
Industries (CCIs)’. In collaboration with its Careers in the Arts Working Group, ELIA contributed to this meeting with input and suggestions regarding the skills which are currently most in-demand within the sector, issues related to upskilling and
reskilling, and the role of higher education institutions in these processes. Stay tuned for more updates regarding the Pact4Skills, and make sure to join the ELIA Careers in the Arts Platform for more related content.
