Symposium and International Conference on Artistic Research at HfBK Dresden

The project EU4ART_differences, a sub-project of the university alliance EU4ART, with partner academies in Dresden, Budapest, Rome and Riga, has been dedicated to Artistic Research in the Third Cycle of the participating alliance partners since the beginning of 2021.

In this context, the EU4ART_differences team of the HfBK Dresden, in cooperation with the Custody of the Technical University Dresden and the Landesverband Bildende Kunst Sachsen e.V., as well as with the support of the Cultural Foundation of the Free State of Saxony, is organising a two-part event on the topic of Artistic Research.

Programme

On 7 July 2022, a Fine Arts Symposium will be held in person and mainly in German. As a prelude to the subsequent international academic conference, the symposium will highlight potentials as well as focal points and concepts of artistic research from various subject-specific and interdisciplinary artistic and academic perspectives that can be experienced in a practical way including in workshop formats, lectures and discussions.

On 8 July 2022, an international conference will be both held in person and streamed online, and will be primarily held in English. The academic conference will focus on overarching methodologies and theoretical approaches to artistic and academic research and ask about possible fields of action in the discourse of academia and in society.
