Relive CAA Special Exhibition: Endless Mountains 3
Wednesday 7 December 2022
On 15 November, the China Academy of Art (CAA) opened a special exhibition called "Endless Mountains 3". The exhibition showcased the profound history and culture of China and Japan. “Endless Mountains 3” includes a series of exhibitions starting in 2020 and is one of the major events of CAA.
With "The Road of Tang Poetry" as the spiritual carrier, this project was designed to showcase the profound history and culture of China and Japan. Artists from China and Japan were invited to experience the "Road of Tang Poetry" from multiple artistic
perspectives, traced the historical context, interpreted the poetic aesthetics and cultural connotation of oriental landscapes with new artistic expressions, and highlighted the significance of the world's spiritual shared value and cultural innovation
through poetic expressions.
Special Exhibition of Works by Chinese and Japanese Artists on the Road to Tang Poetry was divided into two parts, namely online and offline exhibitions. Artists from both countries explored the theme from different cultural and media perspectives, covering
the history and culture of Buddhism, Chinese painting, calligraphy and other traditional arts, as well as contemporary art expressions such as spatial installations, new media images, and architecture and public art. In other words, the exhibition
was an attempt to integrate traditional and contemporary artistic expressions. The exhibition, having three thematic parts: "Arrival through a Narrow Road", "Deep in the Cold Mountain" and "Over Mountains and Seas", displayed more than 200 works of
art created by more than 70 Chinese and Japanese artists.
The exhibition was open from November 15 to 26 at Zhengjiang Exhibition Hall.
