FAST45 Seminar Series: Pedagogical life and the digital university of the arts
Tuesday 28 February 2023

The FAST45 seminar series Pedagogical Life and the Digital University of the Arts explores particular forms and aspects of pedagogical life that may inform or instruct our imagination on the concept of the learning platform. In this seminar series, the tension between physical and virtual forms of pedagogical practice and pedagogical life will be explored. Reflecting critically on these tensions, the aim is to move towards an open discussion on the possibilities within digital forms of education. The programme of the FAST45 Learning Platform includes seven 1.5 hour sessions. Each session will be led by a key thinker on education and technology. Speakers include Jan Masschelein (10/3/23), Gert Biesta (31/3/23), Lesley Gourlay (7/4/23), Norm Friesen (21/4/23), Eamon Dunne (5/5/23) and Lavinia Marin (19/5/23). The final session will be facilitated by the university engagement team at Microsoft (2/6/23 tbc). The seven seminars will explore various topics such as, “Postdigital / More-Than-Digital: Ephemerality, Seclusion, and Copresence in The University”, “Regenerating ‘on campus’ education to reinforce the response-ability of higher education” and explore questions such as “Can we design purposefully a meaningful online education?” - among other topics.
The seminars will take place online. All seminars are free of charge. In case of further questions, please contact Glenn Loughran (glenn.loughran@TUDublin.ie) or Thomas Storme (thomas.storme@luca-arts.be)
