Monday 6 March 2023
We are delighted to announce our newest member: The Netherlands Institute for Sound & Vision
The Netherlands Institute for Sound & Vision is the national institute for media culture in the Netherlands, which was established as a foundation in 1997. Their mission is to keep media
heritage alive, stimulate responsible media use and promote free speech in text, image and sound, in order to contribute to a diverse, creative and democratic society. The institute has two museums located in both Hilversum and the Hague.
The institute works with individual visitors, professional media makers, students, teachers, scientists and journalists.
The Netherlands Institute for Sound & Vision manages one of the largest digitalised media archives in the world. Their archive includes (among others) radio, television, YouTube videos, objects, written press, podcasts and games. They organise numerous
public activities, debates and lectures for a diverse audience at both locations. They offer schools a wide range of media literacy workshops and encourage academic and journalistic research.
They work with a large number of partners, such as creative media makers, appealing experts, national and international universities, committed companies and high-profile influencers.
Learn more about their upcoming events here, and about their ongoing research projects here.
