Call For Papers - Inmaterial - Visions of the Future: Iberian Visual Culture After Democracy

Contraste cover, 1986 by Jorge Colombo There is an ongoing Call for Papers for the upcoming issue of Inmaterial, the scientific journal of BAU, coordinated by Mariona Moncunill. This special edition is titled "Visions of the Future: Iberian Visual Culture After Democracy, 1974–1998," and it is open for contributions until October 9, 2023. This project focuses on visual culture and graphic design during the establishment of democracy in the Iberian Peninsula in the late 20th century. The uniqueness of the political landscape in the Iberian Peninsula during this transitional period, intertwined with postmodern debate, offers exciting possibilities for research in visual communication. Inmaterial is looking for original research articles that can contribute to this collaborative study on contemporary visual culture in the Iberian Peninsula. They particularly value contributions where communication design becomes a "pivot of change" and relates to the cultural complexity of this historical context.
