A Warm Welcome To Our Newest Member: Politecnico di Milano Design School

Monday 25 September 2023
We are pleased to introduce our newest member: Politecnico di Milano Design School

The School of Design in the Politecnico di Milano is today the largest international university for the training of product, communication, interior and fashion designers. According to “QS Rankin by Subject” the School of Design is 1st in Italy, 3rd in Europe and 5th in the world. In 1993 Milan, with its Politecnico, became the elective birthplace of the Degree Course in Industrial Design, the first of its kind in Italy.

The Politecnico is a place of avant-garde training, a meeting point of different cultures. It links architectural and artistic studies, with their creativity and focus on form, to technical, scientific and engineering studies. The history of the Degree Course in Industrial Design – Design Faculty since June 2000 and now the School of Design – is characterized by its constant desire to experiment innovative, experimental development lines that respond to the real market needs of contemporary society.

The campus has approximately 4300 students, over 450 teaching staff and around 400 research and teaching assistants.

They offer degree programmes at two levels: 3-year first level degree (Bachelor or B.Sc) and a further 2-year second level degree “Laurea Magistrale” (Master or M.Sc), as well as research doctorate  (PhD) degrees.

There are currently 4 first level degree programmes (Bachelor or B.Sc) in: Product Design, Communication Design, Fashion Design and Interior Design. There are also currently 7 Laurea Magistrale programmes (Master of M.Sc) at the Campus Milano Bovisa which are: Integrated Product Design, Communication Design, Design for the Fashion System, Interior & Spatial Design, Design & Engineering, Product Service Systems Design, Digital and Interaction Design.

There is one MA programme in La Spezia (Genova) which is Naval and Nautical Design.

We warmly welcome Politecnico di Milano Design School and look forward to working together in the future.
