The position offers a contract for four days (32 hours) a week, for one year with a view to extending. Salary ranges from EUR 2.219 to EUR 2.846 gross per month on a full-time basis depending on experience, including benefits package.
Job Description
Are you an arts enthusiast? Passionate about communication and the development of the arts education sector? Are you a born storyteller who knows how to draw a crowd through words, images, or any other medium?
Have you the practical skills to develop a plan based on a communications strategy and execute with proven results? Are you comfortable in an international setting, translating complex ideas, and communicating urgent and necessary information and topics to the wider ELIA community?
ELIA is looking for an experienced Communications Officer to join a dynamic Communications team which serves our growing network made up of member institutions, including their staff and students in higher arts education as well as partner organisations and EU projects. As Communications Officer you are a creative thinker with practical know-how, comfortable working with industry partners, steering groups, individual members, external freelancers, agencies and ELIA colleagues.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Develop and execute communications & content plans;
Manage communications channels (mailings, newsletters, CRM etc.);
Draft content (e.g. press releases, web copy, event promotion campaigns) for ELIA events, activities and other ELIA departments;
Work together with the ELIA team to create engaging and impactful content (articles, videos, animations, infographics, posts, etc.);
Build stories for multiple communication channels and projects ensuring branding and tone of voice is aligned;
Supervise and coach Communications Interns;
Track and evaluate audience engagement. Keep updated on the latest trends to improve working methods;
Work with ELIA team members to develop new membership initiatives;
Liaising with media companies, videographers, copyeditors and other external agencies to produce high quality, relevant content;
Foster relationships with project partners, steering committees and key persons;
Propose creative ideas to generate stakeholder engagement, creating a sense of community;
Collaborate with the ELIA team and members to produce copy for multiple platforms;
Undertaking any tasks and responsibilities reasonably required by the organisation.
Profile
Higher education qualification in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, PR or relevant field;
Proven experience in marketing and communications;
Excellent copywriting skills and meticulous attention to detail;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English;
Strong commitment to timelines, accuracy, and professionalism;
Ability to effectively communicate and liaise with different groups and cultures;
Self-motivated, efficient, a team player;
A strong interest in arts and (higher) arts education;
Understanding of communication tools and the latest marketing techniques;
Good knowledge of MS Office (PowerPoint, Word, Zoom & Excel);
Ability to write creative briefs for articles, videos, photographers, design & media assets;
Ability to create, run and monitor campaigns across platforms and channels;
Event marketing and promotion experience;
Great project management skills and a pro-active attitude;
Familiarity with keyword placement and other SEO best practices a plus.
Media and design skills a plus.
