Radical Creatives, Human being diving 2 by Hayley Le, Aalto University

Aalto University, School of Arts, Design and Architecture, together with production company Ääri, are proud to present Radical Creatives, a 58-minute documentary feature by film director Emilia Hernesniemi

With the world experiencing new challenges, socially, economically and environmentally, new questions are raised as to how we can best overcome these obstacles. Radical Creatives explores the idea of creativity as a force for global change towards a more attractive and nuanced future.

By putting forth new and nuanced perspectives, Emilia Hernesneimi uses her experience as a Creative Director in various sectors to investigate the role that radical creativity can play in combatting challenges on both an individual and global level. Instead of ready-made answers, the film encourages us to embrace uncertainty, experiment, and take risks in an effort to conquer self-doubt — dare to question, imagine, experiment, fail, and eventually succeed.

In utilising visually experimental aesthetics by cinematographer Iiris Sjöblad, the film presents alluring character portraits through conversations with professionals, students, researchers, and entrepreneurs in the arts and sciences, as it delves into the processes and effects of radical creativity.

The Aalto University is happy to provide screenings for any interested parties.
