The Digital Multilogue on Fashion Education 2024

Berlin University of the Arts (UDK) invites you to this year’s Digital Multilogue on Fashion Education which will take place virtually on 10 October 2024, from 18:00 – 21:00 CEST.

This year's conference will take place under the motto:

“ON GRIEF, EXNOVATION, AND THE POWER OF MUTUAL LEARNING"

The Digital Multilogue on Fashion Education wants to create connections and actions within and across different fashion learning cultures and contexts. It was founded in 2019 as a participatory and outcome-oriented space and a series of conferences focused on the learning and teaching of fashion. It aims to explore and illustrate the diversity and complexity of the field and the practices of fashion education, and to foster a greater understanding of its pasts, presents and futures – methods, values and didactic, pedagogic and epistemological questions – creating a global exchange to inspire mutual learning, collaborative research and shared action.

This event is part of a series of international, interdisciplinary and collaborative events organised by Prof. Franziska Schreiber (Berlin University of the Arts / Fashion Design: "Fashion I Digitality I Gender") and Prof. Renate Stauss (The American University of Paris / Communication, Media and Culture: "cultural and critical studies in fashion"). This event is open to all interested parties who can make a connection to fashion and education, including students. Based on the experience of recent years, lecturers, students and representatives from industry and business are once again expected to take part.

The recipe for The Digital Multilogue on Fashion Education 2024:

❶ three people make a local Multilogue!

❷ find two or more people to meet in-person – on 10 October from 18:00 – 21:00 CEST at a location of your choice

❸ come together to think and talk, make, drink, cook …

❹ register your local multilogue to receive the (mostly paper) ingredients

❺ join the global community online at the beginning and the end of the Multilogue for food for thought and the sharing of ideas and actions
