Open Call for Proposals: VIS – Nordic Journal for Artistic Research

VIS – Nordic Journal for Artistic Research is opening a call for experimental art practices and artistic research with the theme 'The Heart of the Experiment (and the art of failure)'. The journal is the result of a cooperation between Stockholm University of the Arts (SKH) and the Norwegian Artistic Research Programme. In this edition, the focus is on experimental art practices and artistic research where experimentation drives the creative process, leading to unpredictable outcomes. In many artistic research projects and proposals, there often seems to be a need for a clear and specific artistic outcome, which can limit the possibilities within experimental art.

This issue of VIS will highlight and show how failure can be used as a method and as an integrated part of the process in both artistic production and research. Proposals that experiment with different formats and explore the balance of visual content and interactivity are encouraged.

The deadline for submitting exposition proposals is 4 December 2024.
