LUGA: The International Poster Biennial Conference 2024 held at ESMAD

The Porto School of Media Arts and Design hosted the International Poster Biennial Conference 2024, dedicated to the celebration of the poster. LUGA brought together designers, artists, and professionals in the field of graphic design and communication, especially from Portugal and Galicia, to share creations, explore new trends, and stimulate creative collaboration between communities.

On 27 September, the work of applicants were evaluated by a highly prestigious international jury, made up of designers and experts. The jury awarded prizes and honourable mentions in all categories, selecting 300 posters to be included in the International Exhibition and the official publication of the Biennale. The Biennial received more than 1,600 posters from more than 50 countries across the categories of Cultural, Political/Social, Experimental, and Animated.

LUGA is a project of the Porto School of Media Arts and Design and will return in 2026.
