We are delighted to welcome our newest member: The Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Agder (UiA). For over 18 years, the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Agder (UiA) has offered high-quality research-based education in music, performing arts, and visual arts. Established in 2007, UiA is a young and innovative university with campuses in Kristiansand and Grimstad in southern Norway. The Faculty is committed to research and artistic development, creating an inspiring environment for students and staff alike. The Faculty offers BA, MA, and PhD programmes in film, fine art, music, and theatre, delivered across three departments: Classical Music and Music Education, Popular Music, and Visual Arts and Drama. Students engage in a studio-based and research-driven learning experience, supported by strong interdisciplinary collaboration and an emphasis on artistic practice and theory. The Faculty fosters an international outlook through exchange programmes and joint international initiatives, encouraging cultural diversity and social engagement. Dean Marit Wergeland attended the ELIA Academy 2025 in Oslo to experience the ELIA network first-hand. The Faculty describes ELIA as an exciting network with many relevant members, offering opportunities for development, collaboration and professional enrichment.
