Uncertain Curiosity in Artistic Research, Philosophy, Media and Cultural Studies: Transforming Understanding—Understanding Transformation, is now available as an open access publication with free unlimited access worldwide. Drawing on Helga Nowotny's, Insatiable Curiosity, the volume examines how curiosity drives knowledge, creativity, and innovation in a world shaped by rapid societal, technological, ecological, and cultural change. It explores how curiosity engages with uncertainty, ambiguity, and the unpredictable futures we face. This volume is co-edited by Lisa Stuckey, Art and Cultural Studies Researcher and Senior Scientist at the University of Applied Arts Vienna, and Alexander Damianisch, Head of the Department Support Art and Research at the same institution. Damianisch is also an ELIA Representative Board Member as well as a member of the ELIA Careers in the Arts | CCI Working Group. Both editors bring deep expertise in artistic research, philosophy, and interdisciplinary knowledge development. Through essays, case studies, and visual and media analysis, the book highlights the ephemeral, processual, and desynchronous, exploring conditions under which curiosity can flourish. With free and unlimited access, this open access volume invites readers worldwide to engage with its innovative and thought-provoking perspectives. Read the full open access volume for free here.
