The Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (AMU) invites members to the international conference Art and Science: Thinking Outside the Box, held on 18-20 November 2025 to celebrate the 80th anniversary of AMU's foundation. The conference will explore the resonances, tensions, and intersections between the arts, the natural and technical sciences, and the social sciences and humanities. Bringing together artists, scientists, and researchers, it offers a unique platform to compare methods and approaches and to investigate what it means to think creatively, critically and rigorously across disciplinary boundaries. Keynote lectures will be delivered by renowned figures Thomas Ostermeier, Jussi Parikka, and Mayumi Kuno-Mizomura. The conference will be conducted in English and will culminate with the conferral of an honorary doctorate upon Thomas Ostermeier on 20 November 2025. This event provides an exceptional opportunity for dialogue, collaboration, and cross-disciplinary exchange.
