My area of expertise is the strategic development and management of higher arts instititutions. In the last 20+ year I learned leadership of art academies from the bottom up: At Merz Akademie, a non-profit higher art school with ca. 250 students and 10 professorships, offering state accredited BA and MA courses I had many roles and was part of the management team for many years before I took on the role of rector in 2021.

Starting in 2023 I became rector of Hochschule für Gestaltung Schwäbisch Gmünd, a state university of applied arts with ca. 700 students, 27 professorships and several BA and MA courses covering a wide spectrum in the field of design and very active in transfer/outreach and applied research.

I am also a founding member and current member of the board of EQ-Arts, an international Quality Assurance Agency for the Arts. This gives me the opportunity to be regularly involved in external reviews and audits all over Europe and beyond where I usually focus on governance and management issues.
