Since 2011, Fahim Mohammadi has worked in the introductory phase of interdisciplinary higher arts education, combining academic leadership with teaching practice at the intersection of architecture, design, and pedagogy. His work focuses on design processes, their artefacts, and their modes of mediation as ways for students and society to approach complex contextual questions and phenomena.

In September 2025, he has been appointed Full Professor and Founding Head of the Institute for Methodologies of Design and Representation (IMDR) at Technische Universität Braunschweig. From 2015 to 2025, he was Full Professor of Design Foundations and Experimental Design at the Stuttgart State Academy of Art and Design, serving as a member of the Academic Senate from 2019 and as Vice-Rector for International Affairs in 2024–25.

Since 2022, he has been an elected member of the ELIA Representative Board. He co-initiated the Working Group “Arts Education for All” and has served in several ELIA Academy Steering Groups, including as Chair for the 2025 edition.
