Prof. Dr Susanne Stürmer is president of Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF since October 2013. Prior to this, she was Managing Director at UFA, Germany’s largest Film and TV production company. In October 2011 she became part-time professor at Film University, teaching new media / online production. Susanne Stürmer studied Economics, holds a PhD in this field and has long experience in media and film. 

Film University Babelsberg received university status in June 2014. Since being president, Susanne manages the process of sharpening the university’s unique profile together with all members of the university. While further strengthening the successful film development and production work of the school, the Film University builds her research profile with the three pillars art, technology and science.

From September 2016, a new scientific/artistic PhD amends the program. In parallel a number of new and innovative teaching and research programs and formats, also integrating external partners, were developed. Susanne puts a strong effort in tightening the relationship between the school and the film and media companies in Germany and worldwide as well as between the film schools in Germany.

Susanne Stürmer is member of the supervisory board of the media industry network media.net in Berlin-Brandenburg, member of the supervisory board of Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg and deputy director of the German art school rectors conference (KHK).

Since December 2016 she is a member of the ELIA board.
