EDI Online Session: Opening Spaces for EDI

EDI Online Session:
Opening Spaces for EDI

Tuesday 25 April 2023
13:00 – 15:00 CEST

ELIA’s Equity, Diversity & Inclusivity (EDI) Platform invited the ELIA community to the first in a series of online sessions on Tuesday 25 April at 13:00 – 15:00 CEST.

During the ELIA Biennial Conference in Helsinki it became clear that arts education professionals were dealing with a range of EDI-related issues depending on context – institutional, regional, societal, etc. Since the Biennial we have reflected on this, and discussed how we as the ELIA Platform for EDI can be of significance to our international colleagues in supporting you in (y)our wishes and efforts to further equity, diversity and inclusivity at ELIA respective member institutions.

There is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to engaging with equity, diversity & inclusivity, so the goal for these online sessions is to open a space in which we can share and learn from each other. Participants joined us for an open conversation where you can raise issues related to EDI and inquire about the approaches other art schools, academies and art universities have adopted in a variety of contexts. Hopefully you were inspired to share good practices with your peers. We undoubtedly have a lot to learn from each other and it does not matter whether your institution is still in the early stages or already has an advanced policy plan for EDI in place. Everyone waswelcome.

Each session will be led by two members of the EDI Working Group on Zoom. The first session will be led by Cecilia Roos from Stockholm University of the Arts and Ali Şahin from Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam.
Please note that registration for this event is open to ELIA members and is free of charge.

Thank you all for participating!
