ENVOL-TURA

ENVOL-TURA is an inflatable sculpture constructed from reused plastic bags. Conceived for installation at a specific point in the city center where waste spontaneously accumulates, the piece maintains its bag-like form, composed of patchwork fragments that achieve a grand scale—a kind of mutant body that sustains and/or transforms with the wind, light, and the presence of passersby.

This object seeks to intensify the relationship between refuse and form, between what is no longer desired and what can still breathe. Instead of concealing trash, the artwork reconfigures it, inflates it, rendering it visible from an alternative perspective. In dialogue with the urban landscape and in contrast to permanent sculptures like Negret's La Mariposa, ENVOL-TURA posits an aesthetic of the abject that does not reject its ephemeral condition. Rather, re-engaging with the philosophical notion of the landfill, it celebrates this condition as part of the city's vital cycle.
