malum malum

“eden”, “banishment”, “settlement” from the malum malum project. 7 layer print (6 colour lithography on stone + photopolymer plate print) 56 x 56 cm

A series of map prints as part of a bigger art project malum malum on the topic of apples. The prints were made by combining graphic arts techniques of lithography and photopolymer etching and detail the evolution of a fictitious location through urbanisation and its corrosive qualities on the natural world. The settlement encroaches on the map, like a cell being invaded by foreign bodies; like a grafted branch - an alien to its tree.
