Tour of the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre (EAMT). After years of waiting, the EAMT complex was completed in 2019 when the concert hall building was opened. The first stage of study rooms and administration block was finished already in 1999, but the new concert hall building allows for various music and theatre performances: the large concert hall can boast with one of the best acoustics in Estonia, while the black box theatre enables more experimental productions. From the end of the 19th century the sleepy fishermen’s suburb experienced heavy industrialisation and urbanisation complete with factory buildings and housing developments. The area thus provides an overview of 20th century architecture while the old industrial complexes are being renovated and refurbished in the 21st century.
