Third EDI Online Session: Teaching in Different Gears

Tuesday 12 December 2023

ELIA’s Equity, Diversity & Inclusivity (EDI) Working Group invites you to the third EDI Online Session: Teaching in Different Gears, taking place on Thursday, 25 January, from 13:00 - 15:00 (CET) on Zoom.

This session picks up a thread from the conversation on Inclusive Curricula during the second EDI online session. Exploring the practices and challenges of teaching inclusively, focusing on the learning experience instead of the learning outcome, we invite participants to share ideas on access, inclusion and ways of knowing more relevant and reflective of the world we inhabit, and the student population.

During this interactive session, participants will have the chance to share their perspectives and examples of inclusive teaching. Together we will explore how we navigate the space of an inclusive classroom, how do we recognise and value different types of knowledge, recognising that creativity depends on these.

Participants will also have the opportunity to listen to experiences and case studies from other ELIA member institutions.

We encourage you to share your practices in this discussion, with the hope that your insights will inspire others. We strongly believe that valuable lessons can be gleaned from each other, regardless of whether your institution is in the early stages or has already implemented an advanced policy plan for EDI.

All ELIA members are welcome to join and participate!

This conversation will be led by the EDI Working Group members, Mata Ayoub, from Kingston University London, Kingston School of Art and Cecilia Roos from Stockholm University of the Arts.

Please note that registration for this event is open to ELIA members and is free of charge.
