ELIA and UAx Welcome Five Ukrainian Higher Arts Education Institutions to Our Community

Thursday 19 September 2024

ELIA is proud to welcome five Ukrainian higher arts education institutions to the UAx Platform in 2025. Selected through an open call, these institutions will become ELIA members, made possible through a generous grant from the Abakanowicz Arts and Culture Charitable Foundation (AACCF) in collaboration with ELIA.

The five institutions joining the UAx Platform and the ELIA network are:

These institutions will receive full subsidies for ELIA membership for over a year and a half, starting from September 2024. This membership provides access to the extensive network of 285 higher arts education institutions, offering resources, events, and partnerships to foster international collaboration and cultural exchange. Five representatives from these institutions will be attending the upcoming ELIA Biennial conference in Milan, where they will have a chance to attend the UAx Day, a one-day event that brings all project participants together. Prior to the event, the UAx Platform will announce a call for the last five ELIA member institutions to partner with these newly selected Ukrainian institutions.

In addition to these benefits, 30 students from the selected institutions will have the chance to participate in the UAx Abakanowicz Fellowship Programme in 2025. The fellowship supports art students impacted by war who are continuing their studies in Ukraine. The programme offers bursaries, reciprocal mentorship, and a dynamic community, ensuring these students thrive in their creative endeavors.

This marks a significant step in supporting Ukraine’s future generation of artists, providing them with the resources, mentorship, and global connections needed to sustain their work during challenging times. ELIA warmly welcomes these institutions and anticipates their impactful contribution to the global arts community.
