UAx

UAx Platform

UAx is a community platform uniting 15 art universities from Ukraine with 18 partner universities across the EU, UK, and USA, fostering solidarity and collaboration among ELIA members.

Arts education is crucial globally, serving as a foundation for cultural expression, personal development, and community cohesion. In conflict areas, it preserves cultural heritage, offers therapeutic benefits, and advocates social change, helping communities heal and rebuild amidst uncertainty.

Our mission is to support the resilience and recovery of Ukraine’s cultural sector by empowering higher arts education in the country during times of crisis. UAx responds to the urgent needs of students, educators, and administrators from Ukrainian art universities through strong institutional partnerships, targeted student scholarships and mentorship, and international knowledge-exchange events.

Why your support is crucial

A recent UNESCO assessment projects that Ukraine’s arts and cultural sector will necessitate a staggering US $8.94 billion over the next decade (2024–2033) for complete recovery and reconstruction. The resurgence and advancement of Ukrainian cultural heritage hinges on training thousands of artists and cultural professionals who can adeptly manage the restoration and rebuilding efforts. Arts education emerges as a cornerstone in these efforts, vital not only for rebuilding but also for promoting Ukraine’s cultural heritage and facilitating the healing and rebuilding of communities.
