ETHO Technical Community Conference
Crafting the Future
19 – 21 March 2025 Riga, Latvia Hosted by the RISEBA – University of Applied Sciences ELIA is happy to announce that the ETHO Technical Community Conference 2025 will take place on 19 - 21 March 2025 in Riga, Latvia, kindly hosted by RISEBA – University of Applied Sciences. ThemeAs higher arts education undergoes rapid transformation, the ETHO community will come together to celebrate the crucial role of technical staff in shaping future-proof technical teaching, learning and research. Over three days, the ETHO community will create a space for exploration, uncovering new opportunities and learning from each other how emerging technologies are transforming making practices. Technical staff are essential not only to the smooth running of institutions but also to enhancing students' learning experiences, building resilience, and fostering an environment where traditional crafts and cutting-edge technology coexist. Across institutions, local teams are already meeting challenges head-on, finding creative solutions to issues such as budget constraints while maintaining high innovation standards of service and quality. We will explore how the power of making continues to drive the development of technical teaching and learning, empowering technicians to unleash their creativity in addressing eco-responsibility. Through discussions, presentations, and hands-on workshops, we will discover creative solutions emerging from the technical community. Special attention will be given to well-being and psychological support, ensuring our community has the resources it needs to thrive as drivers of change. ProgrammeWith over 30 plenary and parallel sessions, workshops, and optional activities, this is your opportunity to engage in inspiring discussions on the future of technical education, creativity, and innovation.
