Sister School Partnerships

Sister School Partnerships

At the core of the UAx Platform are Sister School Partnerships, which pair 15 Ukrainian art universities with 18 partner universities across the EU, UK, and USA to enhance resilience in Ukrainian higher arts education and foster lasting international collaboration. Formalised through Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), these partnerships connect institutions with similar disciplinary backgrounds. Sister schools collaborate on initiatives such as the UAx Abakanowicz Fellowship and Mentorship Programme, which offers Ukrainian students bursaries and personalised mentoring from art professionals at partner institutions, enabling them to continue their studies and expand their career prospects. Through regular online meetings, peer-learning sessions, and sister school visits, these partnerships allow Ukrainian and partner institutions to share expertise, strengthen their educational practices, and foster a resilient arts education community across borders.
