Internationalisation – Digitalisation – Diversity

Tuesday 23 June 2020

The focus of this event hones in on the priorities for implementing key internationalisation strategies within our institutions.

The event featured guest speakers:

  • Hans de Wit, Professor and Director of the Center for International Higher Education (CHIE), at the Lynch School, Boston College, United States;
  • Florence Balthasar, Head of International Affairs at Zurich University of the Arts.

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way we work, and think about education. It has forced us to adapt our strategies and working processes. This intense period of change has brought with it steep learning curves, for example, the rapid transition to digital teaching.

Perhaps it is time to pool our positive experiences and newfound best practices to find answers to the following crucial questions:

What should be the priorities when implementing internationalisation at our institutions? Would digitalisation in some form help in diversification and inclusion of (international) students? Can digitalisation affect internationalisation?

Participants actively participated in this interactive session which included breakout rooms and more.

The recording of the online session is available exclusively to ELIA members here.
