Join us as we continue to explore the transformative practices emerging from fashion departments in higher arts education institutions.

Building on our previous webinar, we now turn our attention to future-oriented fashion education, where we reflect about analogue vs. digital and the challenges teaching for digital literacy.

Continuing our commitment to advancing technical education in higher arts education, ETHO is pleased to present a thought-provoking webinar exploring the ME-YOU-US project—a three-year EU-funded initiative connecting the University of Ljubljana in Slovenia, Willem de Kooning Academy in the Netherlands, and Kolding School of Design in Denmark.

At the heart of this project is the recognition that digital tools offer a crucial opportunity for shaping a more sustainable, inclusive and diverse future in fashion. By integrating research, critical thinking, and collaboration with industry leaders, ME-YOU-US project investigates the role of virtual and hybrid fashion developments, questioning their applications and potential impact on the industry.

Since 2022, these institutions have collaborated on developing innovative course modules, fostering interdisciplinary learning, and integrating cutting-edge digital technologies such as AI, motion capture, 3D prototyping, and virtual/augmented reality (VR/AR). Now, as these modules are actively taught, this webinar will present insights into their impact and future directions.

Introducing Three Future-Oriented Fashion courses:

  • FUTURING US THROUGH VIRTUAL TOUCH – University of Ljubljana
  • FUTURE / A BETTER TOMORROW – Kolding School of Design
  • FASHION (R)EVOLUTION – Willem de Kooning Academy

Key Topics:

  • Interdisciplinarity & collaboration – Positioning students within the professional landscape through cross-disciplinary cooperation.
  • New Technologies – Exploring animation, 3D design, immersive tech (VR/AR), and AI in artistic fashion practice.
  • Future Visions & Storytelling – Enhancing digital fashion narratives through speculative design, future thinking, and media integration. Examining how technological advancements influence sustainable and ethical fashion.

This webinar will showcase how these institutions are shaping the future of artistic fashion education through experimental approaches and new technologies. Join us for an engaging discussion and be a part of the evolution of higher arts fashion education!
